Science in six seconds: Vine videos capture amazing experiments

Metro

How much science can you explain in six seconds?

Vine users have created a collection of fascinating and fun videos explaining different scientific concepts.

American firm General Electric launched its #6SecondScience fair earlier this month, inviting DIY scientists to film and upload their experiments on the video-sharing app.

The playful videos include simple experiments such as the traditional baking soda and vinegar volcano to more fun clips such as an alternative take on dissecting a frog.

Other impressive efforts include an empty teabag being turned into a miniature rocket and a spectacular homemade lava lamp.

More than 600 videos were submitted in total, with the best of conveniently condensed into the four-minute video at the top.
